London- Bath Stonehenge (23/6/2010)

Tujuan utama saya nak pegi Bath ni, sebab nak pegi tempat The Stonehenge. Dah lama bercita-cita nak pergi sini..dengar macam-macam cerita menarik kt sana dan akhirnya tercapai dah hasrat nak tengok batu-batu tu depan mata.

Kami beli tiket sehari awal. Beli tiket kat Victoria Station. Situ ada terminal bas yang memang ada menyediakan segala-gala pakej menarik kalau nak round atau tour sekitar England with the tour guide. Kami beli tiket bas National Express. The journey to Bath took us 3 hours.

Kalau lagi lama saya kat London, dah tentu saya akan tour ke Manchester, Newscastle, Oxford..etc..etc. Sebabnya, pakej yang disediakan oleh National Express tour ni amat berpatutan harganya. Termasuk dengan tour guide and accomodation..tak termasuk meal. Tkpela meal tu..kat sana kedai makanan halal pun dah banyak sekarang ni. Kiranya..mmg worthla to pay such amount to visit those places with the bus. InsyaAllah..kalau ada rezeki lagi...nak datang sini lagi dan round-round England pulak..InsyaAllah..Aminn..

Harga tiket bas National Express ke Bath is £20.20 = RM101.00 (Return). Setiap jam ada bas kt Bath. Sampai di sana, ada tourist information centre, terus pegi sana sebab nak get more information on Stonehenge ni. There’s a van/mpv to Stonehenge every ½ hour. Kami ambil van pukul 12.30. Perjalanan ke Stonehenge is 1 hour. Lawat sekitar kawasan sana sejam dan perjalanan balik ke Bath sejam jugak. Total journey is 3 hours. Kena plan timing betul-betul takut terlepas bas nak balik London pukul 6.30pm. Cost tour ke Stonehenge is £14.00 = RM70.00.

Bath

Bath is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces and architecture. There will be plenty of time to visit Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge overlooking the river Avon cascading over the weir. And you can shop, explore and take afternoon tea in the Pump Rooms while listening to the string quartet.

London – 22/6/2010

Pada hari ini tak ada tour, cuma kami kena tour sdn bhd. Nasib baik K.Bisma pakar jalan-jalan sekitar bandar London ni. Kami hanya menggunakan 1 day journey train ticket yang berharga £5.60 = RM28.00.

Dengan ticket ni, kami boleh naik mana-mana London underground dari Zone 1 – Zone 3 dan juga boleh naik mana-mana bas double decker hanya tunjuk tiket ini sahaja. Valid tiket ni dari bermula kami beli iaitu pukul 8.30am sehinggala 12.00am. Sangat mudah pengangkutan awam kat sana. Sayang Malaysia tak boleh nak implement concept yang sama seperti London ‘sigh’

Bermulala journey saya naik turun bas, naik turun tube dan naik turun train. Meh saya cerita tempat-tempat yang saya sempat pergi on this day.

Kensington Palace

London Victoria Station

Also known as London Victoria,[ is a major central London railway terminus, London Underground and coach station and a shopping centre in the City of Westminster. It is the second busiest railway terminus in London (and the UK) after Waterloo. It is in Travelcard Zone. It is named after the British monarch Queen Victoria.

Ni kat Victoria Station plak, hari tu kt Peddington Staion..concept yg serupa iaitu train stations..dan berlainan destinasi..:)

Harrods

Is London’s most famous department store. The luxurious store is on many tourists itineraries, who come to admire the magnificent interior and enormous selection. They often leave the store with a signature green bag; foreign visitors account for a significant part of the store’s sales.

Apa yang saya beli kat Harrods ni? Hehehe..biarla rahsia..Apa2 pun..pastikan kalau nak datang shopping kat sini...datang bulan June tau...ingat tu..JUNE..:) :D

Covent Garden

Is one of the London's biggest tourist magnets. The area around the glass-covered building - a former fruit and vegetable market - is always crowded, especially during weekends and in summertime.

Piccadilly Circus

Is a busy plaza in the heart of London at the junction of five major streets : Regent Street, Shartesbury Avenur, Piccadilly and Covent Street.

Beginila suasana dalam tube. Lebih kurang PUTRA la kt sini..tak jauh bezanya. Cuma tube kat sana amat banyak, amat punctual, amat mudah, information banyak, kalau hilang salah naik tube ke apa ke..boleh aje naik mana2 tube yg lain..tak ada masalah. Tp, apa2 pun kena study their route betul-betul..:)

Rehat kejap...rasa nak patah kaki dah ni berjalan..kalau tak fit..tak larat..susahla nak jalan-jalan and explore tempat orang...banyak lagi nak pegi ni..:)

Queen’s Mary Rose Garden Park

London's largest and best rose garden. It has good collections of all the main rose types, arranged in a design which responds to the circular site.

Madame Tussaud

Touted as “London’s favorite tourist attraction”, the statues at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum have been thrilling visitors since Tussaud opened her first permanent exhibit in 1835.

Saya tak masuk pun kat sini..dapat bergambar pun jadikla. Duit terlalu berharga kat sana. Dari saya 'bagi' duit kat MT tu...baikla saya beli barang2 ke..pegi travel other side of the country ke kan..:) Lagi pun saya dah tahu 'siapa' ada kat dalam tu. Tak rasa ralat pun..hehehehe

Ni sightseeing tour bus..macam hop on hop off kt KL. Tak naik pun...cuma bergambar ajer.

Program hari ni ialah sightseeing tour with guide. Her name is Ms Suky. Mula-mula kami dibawa jalan-jalan pusing sekitar bandar London dengan bas.

The Tower of London.

The Tower of London is one of London's most popular and iconic tourist attractions. Built by William the Conquerer in the early 1080s the Towers role has been as a fortress, palace and prison.

One of the main reasons to visit the Tower is to see the working collection of Crown Jewels. There are 23,578 in the collection including one of the world's most famous diamonds. Find out who dared to try and steal the Jewels in 1671 and whether they succeeded.

The nearest tube station is Tower Hill on the Circle and District underground lines. The Tower Gateway station on the Docklands Light Railway is also within easy walking distance.

London Bridge.

Is a bridge between the City of London and Southwark in London, U.K., over the River Thames. Situated between Cannon Street Railway Bridge and Tower Bridge, it forms the western end of the Pool of London. On the south side of the bridge are Southwark Cathedral and London Bridge station; on the north side are the Monument to the Great Fire of London and Monument tube station.

The area between London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the south side of the Thames is a business improvement district (BID) and is managed by Team London Bridge. The name London Bridge is often mistakenly applied to Tower Bridge, which is the next bridge downstream.

Changing the Guard.

The Changing the Guard ceremony takes place in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace at 11.30 every day in summer, every other day in winter.

The New Guard marches to the Palace from Wellington Barracks with a Guards band, the Old Guard hands over in a ceremony during which the sentries are changed and then returns to barracks.

The ceremony lasts about 45 minutes and is free to watch.

London Eye.

A recent but already very popular tourist attraction is the London Eye, a giant observation wheel located in the Jubilee Gardens on the South Bank. The 135 meter (443ft) tall structure was built as part of London's millennium celebrations.

The futuristic looking capsules, accommodating up to 25 passengers, were transported all the way from France by train through the chunnel. Each egg-shaped capsule is 8 meters long and weighs 500kg. The 25 meter (82 ft) long spindle was built in the Czech Republic. The rim has a diameter of 122m (400ft), about 200 times the size of a bicycle wheel. 80 Spokes connect the rim with the spindle.

The observation wheel turns slow enough for people to embark while it is moving. A complete turn takes about 30 minutes. Thanks to the construction of the glass capsules on the outer side of the rim, the passengers have a great 360° view over London. Many famous landmarks are clearly visible, including the Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Houses of Parliament. On a clear day you can see as far as 40 km (25 miles).

Make sure you get your tickets in advance, lines can be very long, both the lines for embarking and for ticket purchases. It's less crowded at night when the views are even more spectacular.

Westminster Abbey.

Its located near the House of Parliament, is more a historical site than a religious site.

The Houses of Parliament.

Also known as the Palace of Westminster is the seat of Britain’s two parliamentary houses, the House of Lords and the House of Commons.

Big Ben.

The most famous part of Charles Barry’s design is the elegant clock tower. Originally called St. Stephen’s Tower, it was soon named after the tower’s largest bell, the Big Ben. A light at the top of the tower is illuminated when Parliament is sitting at night.

Oxford Street

Oxford Street is one and a half miles end to end. Most shops open 10am until 6 or 7pm. Some open Sunday 12 to 6pm with late nights on Thursday. Oxford Street is best known for Selfridges and the other big department stores which are all found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus, along with most of the big-name multinationals. It's more of the same as you continue towards Tottenham Court Road, but generally on a smaller scale. Oxford Street is said to be the busiest shopping street in Europe.
