I am staying in TBM and the area around this quiet township has been going through major development. Opposite my area, just across the road is Desa Park City and Sunway SPK - huge development projects, When Sunway SPK first launched a few years ago, a 2 storey house cost RM550k. The 2.5 storey house cost 690K. A 2.5 storey Southlake house in Desa Park City is selling for 880K. Gives you an idea of how property prices has boomed in this part of Kepong.
A few days ago, I saw what used to be a nice cluster of rubber trees being cleared. This huge piece of land is opposite the 7-block Menjalara condominium. It is also directly opposite Nadia houses of Desa Park City. On the signboard was a simple "Cadangan membina 196 unit rumah dua tingkat" (Plan to build 196 units of double storey houses). When I saw it, I was excited. A new housing development. Please let it be reasonably priced. The board did not say who is the developer. I am holding my breathe.. hoping to see some flyers or mural indicating who is the developer.
That day, can’t remember the exact date in OU, my hopes are dashed. There was a booth set up in new wing. That piece of land is another Sunway SPK.. and the 196 units of double storey house are actually Semi Ds. Sunway is building 196 units of Semi Ds right in Menjalara. Going price? 1.6 MILLION!

On the bring side, maybe our house in TBM will appreciate too..
